UWC Sverige is the Swedish national committee for the wider UWC movement. The organisation exists to select and fund students from Sweden to UWC schools, but also to increase awareness of UWC in Sweden and promote solidarity and commitment among UWC alumni in Sweden.

UWC Sverige is also a member organisation for everyone who wants to support UWC and UWC Sverige's work - e.g. former students, parents, teachers, and employees in the UWC movement. As a paying member, you help the organisation develop and have voting rights during the annual meeting. 

All board members of UWC Sverige work on a voluntary basis and have been selected or elected to the committee to fill specific skills and vacancies. Many of UWC Sverige's non-board members also support UWC Sverige's work during the annual selection process and participate in summer and alumni meetups throughout the year.

UWC Sverige's mission

UWC Sverige's main activities include:

• To select the best possible students for all United World Colleges and Short Courses in a manner that represent the diversity of Sweden
• To finance the studies of selected students at UWC schools
• To maximise opportunities for young people in Sweden to take part in a UWC experience 
• To nurture the Swedish alumni network and an enduring commitment to the UWC ideals in Sweden
• To provide information to current scholarship holders and their parents to ensure that students receive the support they need during their studies

UWC Sverige is responsible for the financing of the Swedish students selected for UWC. UWC Sverige's income currently comes from private donors, including individuals and foundations, and from the municipalities that allow the transfer of school grants abroad.
