Our organization
UWC Sverige is a non-profit organization with paying members. We always welcome new members and volunteers, so please get in touch if you want to get involved! You can learn more about what we need help with right now and how you can contribute with your involvement by clicking here.
UWC Sverige's governing board
UWC Sverige's board consists of about ten members who have chosen to engage and work for UWC Sverige on a voluntary basis. The board is elected by the organizations's members at the annual meeting. As of right now, most of our board members are alumni, but it is not a requirement to have attended a UWC school to sit on the board.
President
Lisa Bjerke
Lisa attended UWC Red Cross Nordic from 2005-2007. She has an MPhil in Human Ecology and has worked on sustainability issues in Boston, USA. After 10 years she moved back to Malmö and is now studying to become a high school teacher. Lisa is the president of UWC Sverige since 2023.

Secretary
Eje Brundin
Eje attended UWC-USA in New Mexico in 2017-2019. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from Lund University and has worked for one year at the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Eje is the Secretary of UWC Sverige.

Treasurer
Paul Klein
Paul attended Atlantic College 1985-87 and is a professor of economics at Stockholm University. He has been UWC Sverige's treasurer since June 2018. Paul is also the board's IT manager.

Communications and Selections Coordinators and Parent Contact
Jonatan Ullholm
Jonatan attended UWC Red Cross Nordic between 2018-2020. He is now studying the master program in medical biotechnology at KTH. Since 2023, Jonatan is responsible for communications and selections in the board together with Dawit Leake and Anna Alavaara.

Dawit Leake
Dawit attended UWC RCN from 2017 to 2019. Dawit studied International Studies as a bachelor's degree in the U.S. He is a master's student at Malmö University and works part-time as an English Teacher and tutor for Lund Kommun. Some of his passions include philosophy, music, and snow. He works with the communications and outreach work of the NC.

Anna Alavaara
Anna attended Waterford Kamhlaba UWCSA in 2019-2020. She is now studying the Landscape Architecture program at SLU in Uppsala. In 2023, Anna has been involved in the board's communication work. For next year, she will take over as selection manager and parent contact.

Student Contact och Designated Safeguarding Lead
Rebecka Sehéler
Rebecka attended UWC Atlantic college in Wales between 2020 and 2022. She is now back in Sweden and studies the journalism program at Stockholm University. Since 2024, Rebecka is the student contact on UWC Sverige's board. She is also responsible for authoring UWC Sverige's quarterly newsletter.

Municipality Contact och Deputy Safeguarding Lead
Anton Strömberg
Anton attended UWC Red Cross Nordic 2017-2019. Starting in 2019, he is studying independent courses at Lund University, where he continues to explore his interest in Philosophy and has created his own bachelor's degree with a focus on Practical Philosophy and Systems Science. Anton's main focus within UWC Sverige is on Municipality Contact and Safeguarding, and he is currently the deputy safeguarding lead for the National Committee.
